Greyhound Trainer Intake Form

Please read the information below carefully before submitting your Intake Request Form.

We appreciate, as a greyhound trainer, you may have multiple dogs looking for rehoming spaces.

While our spaces are limited, we are happy to keep a record of the dogs you have waiting and contact you as when space arises.

As a foster-based organisation, we are unable to take in any dogs that have bitten people or other animals, and/or shown aggression.  As many of our fosters have existing pets in the home, any dogs you wish us to take in will need to be small dog tested prior to intake.  We can arrange to do this with you, or if you have the facilities to provide video footage of the hounds safely meeting other as per our instructions, we can accept this too.

On intake, we will require that:

  • Full and accurate details of the greyhound is supplied including retirement injury and veterinary history.

  • The hound is neutered, vaccinated, up to date on flea/worm treatment and has clean teeth and maintained nails

  • Provide us with a green form, valid and up to date vaccination card and any other neccessary documentation relating to the hound

  • The hound is bonded with the GRS Scheme

In signing your hound over to us for rehoming you acknowledge and understand that:

  • In signing your hound into our care for rehoming, you acknowledge and understand that you have no further claim on your dog and that s/he will not be returned to you.

  • Due to GDPR regulations, you will not be given access to the foster or adopters details or location and vice versa, but that this information may be publicly available.

  • By surrendering a hound to us, you agree to the terms that you will not attempt to contact the new owners via any means, including social media.

  • We will seek a full veterinary history, and have the dog’s microchip details transferred to The Zoomie Zone upon intake.

  • You will be asked to provide photos and video footage of your dog, as part of the application process.  This may be shared with our associated veterinary practice and behaviourist who are not employees of The Zoomie Zone.
